Nikola Corp. and Tesla Inc. have been entangled in litigation since 2018. The two companies, who are both named after the late inventor Nikola Tesla. Furthermore, both are motor companies with a focus on reducing carbon emissions. Well, reports state that they’ve dropped all claims against each other.
Nikola sued Tesla in 2018, accusing the much larger conglomerate of copying its patented designs, including its “wrap-around U-shaped windshield, fuselage and side door,” according to Bloomberg. Tesla denied the accusations and fired back with a counterclaim.
However, they put the case on hold last year, and is now fully dropped, as Nikola’s founder Trevor Milton allegedly misled investors about the company’s future and subsequently was charged with securities fraud.
