Amidst preparing for a mid career retrospective book with Rizzoli and the upcoming launch of his own footwear brand, the designer has officially released the second installment of his collaborative New Balance 1000 series. Titled “Fog Be The Cloud,” this latest drop follows the initial release from September and injects a massive dose of color into the retro inspired model.

This iteration is defined by its vibrant and dynamic aesthetic. The shoe features a striking multicolored upper that shifts like a rainbow, transitioning smoothly through shades of teal, pink, and bright red. This eye catching gradient is anchored by a bold, painted citrus orange midsole that demands attention. Balancing out the loud color palette, a soft grey toe cap at the forefoot provides a subtle touch of contrast.
True to Bembury’s design ethos, which often prioritizes natural materials and wearer comfort, the sneaker includes a cork insole. This signature detail not only offers a unique feel underfoot but also serves as a nod to the designer’s consistent theme of connecting with the outdoors.
The release marks another milestone in what has been a banner year for Bembury. While he teased these designs back in May, the full reveal showcases a complex mix of materials and hues that fans have come to expect from his partnership with the Boston based brand.
