As spooky season approaches, Nike is continuing its beloved annual tradition of Halloween-themed sneaker releases with the official reveal of the new Air Max 95 “Houseflies.” Joining a previously teased Air Force 1 with the same macabre theme, this new take on the iconic Air Max 95 brings a morbid yet brilliantly playful aesthetic to the holiday.
Nike Reimagines the Air Force 1 Low in a “Black Denim” Makeover
The sneaker is built on a sleek, all-black leather upper, creating an ominous canvas for its unique and creepy-crawly details. The most captivating feature is the array of white 3M housefly graphics scattered across the leather panels. Thanks to the reflective 3M material, these flies are designed to glow in the dark, a perfect feature for haunting the streets on a Halloween night.
The haunted house theme is further enhanced by several other clever design touches. The classic AIR MAX logo on the tongue has been subtly infested with a spooky cobweb design. Underneath, the shoe features a translucent outsole which reveals more black housefly printings on the bottom of the foot, adding another layer of macabre detail. A striking pop of color is provided by the neon yellow visible Air units in the midsole, which glow against the otherwise dark design.
