Apple Introduces the Next-Gen iPad Pro with M2 Chip

As well as a redesigned 10th-generation iPad.

At long last, Apple has unveiled its updated iPad lineup, highlighted by a next-generation iPad Pro supercharged by the M2 chip. The latest iPad Pro model also features a next-level Apple Pencil hover experience, super-fast wireless connectivity, and a plethora of abilities thanks to the new iPadOS 16. Let’s dive into the features that help Apple’s newest iPad deliver the ultimate combination of portability, versatility, and performance.

Film Review: Everything Everywhere All at Once

Apple’s M2 chip features an 8-core CPU that’s up to 15% faster than M1 with 100GB/s of unified memory bandwidth. A 10-core GPU delivers up to 35% faster graphics performance, and the 16-core Neural Engine can process 15.8 trillion operations per second. The overall performance of M2 turbocharges even the most demanding workflows. The advanced hardware makes the iPad Pro ideal for everyone from photographers editing massive photo libraries to designers manipulating complex 3D objects to healthcare professionals taking advanced imaging. Further, the power of M2 extends to the new media engine and the image signal processor. When combined with the advanced cameras, users are able to capture ProRes video and transcode ProRes footage up to 3x faster. This means content creators can capture, edit, and publish cinema-quality video from a single device.

Apple also takes this opportunity to upgrade the Apple Pencil with a new hover experience powered by iPad OS16. iPad now detects Apple Pencil up to 12mm above the display. This allows users to see a preview of their mark before they make it. Users are also able to sketch and illustrate with even greater precision, creating a more effortless experience.

The new Magic Keyboard Folio comes with a trackpad, turning the tablet into a convertible laptop. Additionally, a USB-C port allows for greater versatility than the previous Lightning connector. Finally, the front-facing camera is now on the long side of the tablet.
