Everyone wants what the guys at Apple are pushing, and today they’ve finally after so many rumors and speculation announce its full new line of iPhones. It starts with the standard device alongside and for the first time ever a mini counterpart. At first glance the phones feature a similar design language to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5. These iPhones also feature 5G capabilities which is a big surprise.
The standard iPhone 12 features a new 6.1 display with smaller bezels than its pedecessor the iPhone 11. The all-new Super Retina XDR display sits comfortably with 460 pixels per inch. To increase the durability of the new iPhone 12, Apple called on Corning once again to produce a new type of glass that features a Ceramic Shield. Manufactured with temperature crystallization that increases drop durability by 4x.
Under the hood we get the A14 Bionic chip. It’s the latest chip from Apple and they’ve developed a reputation of creating some of the best silicon in the business. They say its the fastest CPU a smartphone. It features a 4 core next-gen architecture to provide 50 percent faster graphics. Perfect for machine learning, utilizing the iPhone 12’a 16-core neural engine to churn out 11-trillion operations per second.

What we all care about is the camera and the new iPhone 12 features two 12 MP shooters. A ultra-wide with ƒ1.6 aperture uses machine learning for its computational photography and a standard wide 12 MP with the same apeture size. Smart HDR3 is here and uses machine learning to determine fine details in images. This is an all new sensor so expect sharper and higher quality images. For fans of Night Mode, you can now use the feature on the front and the back cameras while the TrueDepth mode can capture images without the use of flash.
One of the standout features of the iPhone 12 is its new charging system. MagSafe is back, but this time in the form of a Qi wireless charger, similar to the charging system used on Apple Watches. The iPhone 12 mini features many of the same specs and hardware as its larger counterpart, the only difference is its 5.4-inch display. Apple’s also calling it the “smallest, thinnest, and lightest 5G smartphone in the world.”
Ok, so we’ve got all that out of the way. Now you want to know…how much will it cost me? Well, here are the numbers. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models in blue, green, black, white, and (PRODUCT)RED starting at $799 USD and $699 USD, respectively. Pre-orders for the iPhone 12 begin at 5 a.m. PDT on Friday, October 16, with availability beginning Friday, October 23. iPhone 12 mini will be available for pre-order beginning at 5 a.m. PST on Friday, November 6, with availability beginning Friday, November 13.
