During the “Hi Speed” event, Apple introduced the long awaited iPhone 12 lineup. With a brand new design and fully equipped with 5G technology. This sets a new standard for the iPhone while the California-based tech company kept its emphasis on reaching its environmental goals.

It’s been long rumored that the new iPhone wouldn’t come with a power adapter. As they seek to focus far more on sustainability, because of this initiative, the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 MiniiPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max models will not include wired EarPods and a power adapter. Apple states,

“As part of our efforts to reach our environmental goals, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini do not include a power adapter or EarPods. Please use your current Apple power adapter and headphones, or purchase these accessories separately.” – Apple

When you buy the new iPhone. All you’ll find in the box is a USB-C to Lightning cable and the device itself. This move will help scale the iPhone 12 better regarding shipping logistics by making packaging smaller and lighter. This smaller packaging size increases the number of boxes Apple can ship on pallets by 70 percent. By cutting out EarPods and power adapters in the box, this will cut Apple’s carbon emissions by over 2 million metric tons each year, that’s equivalent to reducing 450,000 cars on the road each year.

Of course Apple found this to be the perfect opportunity to promote its new MagSafe wireless charging option. Its newly developed charging functionality that will open up a whole new ecosystem of accessories for easy attachment and faster wireless charging. You can head over to Apple’s website to check out all the accessories they offer.
