Koenigsegg gave a first look at its pre-production test model for its fastest car now and ever, the Jesko Absolut. The speed-centric Jesko Absolut was expected to release last year when we first saw the introduction of the “standard” Jesko model in 2019 but came plagued with delays due to global precariousness and supply chain shortages, until now.
“We will never endeavor to make a faster series-production road car – ever,” Koenigsegg stated in a press release. Powered by the same twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 and nine-speed transmission as the Jesko, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut model delivers 1600 horsepower and over 1,100 lb/ft of torque with a “theoretical” top speed of 330+ miles per hour. If the speed estimates are true, it would make the hypercar the fastest production car in existence, easily beating the unofficial record held by the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+set at 304 mph.
The prototype features “Graphite Grey” with “Orange” racing lines. One difference you’ll notice right off the bat is the exclusion of the large rear wing, which permits lower drag and weight. The two rear fin hoods give the car improved high-speed stability. Furthermore, 85mm of length should also improve the Jesko’s aerodynamics . Lastly, they add a hardtop removable roof with enough space in the front boot for storage.

“The Absolut feels very natural to drive. Because of its seamless shifting, whether up or down, everything just happens much faster,” said test driver Markus Lundh. “There are no delays, it is very responsive and behaves exactly the way you would want it to. We spent thousands of hours in CFD calculations. We’ve streamlined this car from not just an aerodynamic and design perspective, but also from a high-speed stability perspective. As a result, the Jesko Absolut has a phenomenally low drag of only 0.278 Cd.”
