It looked too good to be true but the good news is, it’s true. The Tesla’s Roadster 2.0 will be even faster than originally promised. Already expected to be the fastest production car with a top speed of 249 mph and an acceleration of 0-62 mph in 1.9 seconds, the sports car will achieve new speeds thanks to a “SpaceX Rocket Thruster” option package.

Confirmed on Twitter, when one user pointed out that the sports car could reach 0-60 mph in 1.1 seconds, Elon Musk chimed in with “Yes, with the SpaceX rocket thruster option package. It will be safe, but very intense. Probably not wise for those with a medical condition – same as a hardcore roller coaster.” Tesla will achieve this scary acceleration using cold air rocket thrusters positioned at the rear of the car.
