Just after the unveiling of its Pony Heritage Series, Hyundai returns with the second offering in its heritage Series electric restomod (restored and modified), the “Grandeur Heritage Series.” Inspired by the 1986 Hyundai Grandeur, which is Hyunda’s re-badged take on the Mitsubishi Debonair. What makes this special is the car features an updated all-electric power-train and “retro-futurism” stylistic decisions that define the shape and functionality of the vehicle.
What we love is Hyundai kept the design integrity of the original car, yet adding modern “pixel” LED headlights and taillights. You’ll find a clean chrome mesh grille on the front and elegant retro wheel covers highlighted with and lux chrome trim. While the outside is beautiful, it’s the inside that takes the cake as they’ve completely overhauled it. Starting with a wide-screen display with an integrated sound bar and portrait control panel that controls multimedia, driving functions and enhanced air conditioning. The soundbar works in unison with the 18-speaker sound system designed to express “acoustic theory similar to that of a concert hall.”

The upholstery comes in a bright burgundy Alcantara and nappa leather accented by silver metal and gloss black elements. Welcomed additions come courtesy of the stealthy watch storage slot, a throttle style gear selector, “infinity mirror” roof lights and a virtual piano feature developed with instrument brand Samick.
The Hyundai Grandeur Restomod Heritage Series concept unveiled at the Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang center in Seoul, South Korea will be on display later this month. Hyundai will also soon reveal the next entry in its heritage series, a retromod Galloper, the automotive company’s first SUV, soon. You can take a detailed look at the images in the gallery above.
