Legendary MC Ghostface Killah has announced a new album, though fans may express disappointment in how it manifests. The founding Wu-Tang Clan member has partnered with Kano Computing to deliver the album via STEM player.
The 22 Best Albums of 2022
The STEM player is best known as the pocket-sized device used by Kanye West in 2021 for the release of Donda and Donda 2. The handheld customization tool allows users to isolate, chop, warp, and remix songs, inviting listeners into the music creation process.
Now, Ghostface Killah becomes the latest artist to launch his own custom device. Additionally, Ghostface will become the first artist to run a “direct subscription” service with STEM. Though the nuances of what the subscription will provide are currently unknown, it likely entails exclusive drops on the device even after this album. Ghostface Killah will be releasing two STEMs in black and cream colors, each containing songs and special audio effects. The cream edition will include 5 new tracks and retail for $240 USD. Meanwhile, the limited-run black edition will feature 10 new tracks for $360 USD.

Fans can listen to the first single “6 Minutes” from the currently-untitled album for free for the next 36 hours on the STEM website.
