We’re not even two weeks into the new year and Salehe Bembury is already preparing for an impactful year. Back in October, Bembury teased his Lugger collaboration with Clarks Originals. The newfound creative partners finally revealed their collaborative effort today, along with the official release information. Presenting, the Salehe Bembury x Clarks Originals “Mud Moss” Luggers.
A-COLD-WALL* Builds a Modular Wardrobe with its Pre-Spring 2023 Collection
Though it has historically been an underrated silhouette on the Clarks roster, the Lugger steps into the spotlight thanks to the detailed hand of Salehe. The Luggers arrive in three colors – a bold orange and blue, a vivid green and pink, and a cool grey and navy. All three pairs are identical in construction and embellishment. The silhouettes feature a forefoot made of ultra-shaggy suede stamped with the abstract “splash” pattern Bembury uses for his Spunge releases. Additionally, collars display simple printed details while a moccasin-like seam wraps around the lateral forefoot and across the toebox. Further details include an asymmetrical lacing system that veers towards the lateral side of the collar. Finally, an ultra-thick crepe sole completes the design.
