Nintendo also shared the release date for the ninth installment in the popular RPG series.

Earlier this year, The Pokémon Company announced the ninth installment in their popular RPG series titled Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. In a new gameplay trailer, fans were treated to pleasant news about the style, playability, and Pokémon in the upcoming game. Most importantly, Scarlet and Violet will serve as the first true open-world experience in the franchise. The gameplay will follow the 3D art style first introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus earlier this year.

In addition to offering new Pokémon in a thrilling story, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will feature four-player co-op for the first time in the franchise’s history. This multiplayer option will allow players and their friends to explore the region together. Fans of the franchise have begged for a co-op option for years, and it seems Nintendo and The Pokémon Company finally answered their prayers.

The new trailer also revealed there will be two professors who introduce the starter Pokémon: Sprigatitio, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Accompanying those starters are Smoliv, Pawmi, and Lechonk from the Generation IX creatures. Additionally, two new legendary Pokémon will grace the covers and headline the main stories of Scarlet and Violet: Koraidon and Miraidon.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will release on November 18th. Both games are available for pre-order from the Nintendo eShop now. You can watch the second official trailer for the game in the player above. As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
