A Ma Maniére and Awake NY Unveil COLOR CODE Capsule

Featuring hoodies, t-shirts, and sweatpants inspired by HBCUs in the 90s.

Renowned boutique A Ma Maniére and Angelo Baque’s Awake NY have united for a new apparel capsule. First introduced last year, COLOR CODE is a collaborative project that champions Black and minority-owned brands to create capsules with The Whitaker Group’s retail brands. The inaugural partnership between A Ma Maniére and Awake NY blends cultural aspects of Washington D.C., Houston, Atlanta, and New York City.

Swedish House Mafia and IKEA Reveal First Pieces from Upcoming Collaboration

The nine-piece collection includes cotton-blend hoodies, sweatpants, and t-shirts inspired by 1990s athletic wear from HBCUs. The shirts arrive in black, white, and maroon, while the hoodies and sweatpants feature black, white, and powder blue colors. Additionally, displayed on each piece is a panther graphic honoring the Black Panther Party. To further champion the spirit of change, the t-shirts in the collection feature the phrase “Higher Learning” as a call to action for BIPOC communities. A cross-branded logo adorns the left chest and thigh to complete the pieces.
