Nike Introduces “Re-Creation” Program with an LA-Inspired Hoodie Collection

Dedicated to collecting vintage and deadstock pieces to create new locally-designed products.

The Swoosh recently launched a new program dedicated to its circular vision for a sustainable future. Known as Nike Re-Creation, the program is yet another avenue to create new solutions to advance their Move to Zero. Through Re-Creation, Nike locally collects vintage and deadstock pieces “to create new locally designed and manufactured products.”

“Nike Re-Creation highlights an exciting moment of experimentation and progression,” said John Hoke, Nike’s Chief Design Officer. “The program exemplifies Nike’s collaborative spirit, bringing together experts in design, retail, supply chain, and sustainability to strategize and learn.” Re-Creation joins Nike Grind, Nike Refurbished, and Nike Recycling & Donation initiatives in The Swoosh’s innovative work toward a more circular future. Ultimately, Re-Creation shares the same goal of moving toward a zero-carbon and zero-waste future.

The first release from the program includes three fleece hoodies and crew silhouettes inspired by Los Angeles sports culture. Further, individual pieces are uniquely restored through manual patchwork, dye patterns, screen-printed graphics, and decorative stitching to enhance durability. However, the silhouettes are only available in limited quantities.

Take a moment to view the hoodies in the images above before they drop exclusively at The Grove in Los Angeles. You can read more about the Nike Re-Creation program here.
