With several iconic collaborations already under their belts, Nike and Off-White™have prepared their first posthumous sneaker release designed by Virgil Abloh. Back in December, the release of this Off-White™ x Nike Blazer Low ’77 was delayed in the wake of Virgil Abloh’s untimely death. Now, Nike will deliver the shelved silhouette in honor of the visionary designer’s legacy.
Nike Celebrates Jackie Robinson Day with Special Dunk Low
The Off-White™ x Nike Blazer Low exudes Abloh’s charm throughout the design. His signature Helvetic font and quotation marks are seen across the medial panel and dual laces. Additionally, the leather uppers feature holes often likened to Swiss cheese. For the white colorway, a red Swoosh compliments a yellow secondary cord lacing system. Meanwhile, the black colorway features a monochrome black Swoosh with vibrant green secondary laces. Moreover, in the sneaker’s ideation phase, Virgil became focused on “mixing languages for a new signature,” inspired by Nike’s Terra Humara. Here, Virgil fuzes the Terra Humara’s sturdy TPU heel piece to the Blazer Low to elongate the back of the midsole. Additional details here include Off-White™’s signature zip-tie tag and cross-branded tongue tags. The sneakers arrive in an exclusive Nike box also fashioned with aesthetic holes.
The Off-White™ x Nike Blazer Low ’77 is set to release on April 8th at 7:00 AM for $140 USD. They’ll drop online at Off-White™, in the Nike SNKRS app, and via select Nike stores.
