Legendary New York MC Nas premiered the official music video for his single “Wave Gods” on Wednesday. A$AP Rocky serves as both a featured artist and co-director of the music video, alongside Hidji and Spike Jordan. “Wave Gods” is currently the most-streamed track off Nas’ latest LP Magic with producer Hit-Boy.

The video opens with a title card that reads “every choice you make, makes you,” followed by “only a fool trips on what’s behind them.” From there, Hit-Boy places speakers in a bedroom window as the video cuts between scenes of the rappers going about their day in the city. Nas and Rocky enjoy a dice game until a stranger in a red jacket confronts them. The fast-paced video cuts to Nas waking up in a hospital bed with Rocky and DJ Premier at his side.
Magic is the third collaborative project between Nas and Hit-Boy, following the Grammy-winning King’s Disease and its 2021 sequel. King’s Disease 2 is nominated for Best Rap Album at the upcoming Grammy’s. Nas confirmed this partnership will continue on the track “Ugly” off their latest LP, rapping “KD3 is on the way, this just to feed the buzz.”
