This is really exciting! The world’s first Studio Ghibli Park, built in Nagakute city, Japan, which is about three hours from Tokyo via train ride, finally has an official opening date.
For fans of Studio Ghibli this comes as good news. The theme consists of five sections: Hill of Youth, Ghibli’s Large Warehouse, Mononoke’s Village, Valley of Witches, and Dondoko Forest. Each section of the park features beautiful and expansive natural landscapes which are made from references to recreate Miyazaki’s hit classics such as My Neighbor Totoro, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and more.
The Ghibli Theme Park opens on November 1. Visitors will have access to its Hill of Youth, Ghibli Large Warehouse, and Dondoko Forest sections, while Mononoke’s Village and the Valley of Witches will finalize construction in the fall of 2023.
