The debut collection from NYC-based design house Computer Generation Imagery has finally arrived. After teasing several Fall/Winter pieces in a campaign video back in June, CGI unveiled the full capsule this past weekend.
The collection – titled “CGI 2021” – includes insulated jackets, vests, and sweaters, as well as pants, hats, t-shirts, and bags. Prices range from $180 for a sleeveless turtleneck crop top to $1,042 for the Alien Jacket. Each piece appears in a vibrant electric blue color with an emphasis on circular, puffed silhouettes.
Billie Eilish – Happier Than Ever, Album Review
Led by designer Anthony Wyllie and creative partner Dante Holley, CGI is a versatile creative company operating amongst the modern milieu. The brand works in several mediums including fashion, gaming, sound design, augmented reality, and much more. “CGI 2021” is accompanied by a video presentation directed by Wyllie. The video captures an inside look at the entire creative process from casting to styling to fitting to directing. Camera angles in motion and wide shots monitor model movement and make us feel as though we’re immersed in this intricate process as well.
Additionally, a video game trailer produced and programmed by Holley showcases the unbound creative vision of the brand. The trailer features 3D character scans of the models ready for battle against a robotic enemy. The game will permit users to create their own avatar to play on their mobile device or PC. Sound design for both visual works comes courtesy of CGI’s debut album, “CGI 2021.”
