Seth Rogen’s ‘Houseplant’ Finally Launches in U.S.

Lifestyle Brand Aims to Positively Impact Cannabis Industry

Lovable stoner Seth Rogen is finally bringing his cannabis lifestyle brand Houseplant to the states.  Following a successful launch in Canada in 2019, Rogen is officially launching his upscale cannabis company in California on March 11th.  Rogen’s longtime friend and collaborator Evan Goldberg is joining him on this venture.

Houseplant is a brand ten years in the making.  Both Rogen and Goldberg express a genuine belief that cannabis is greatly beneficial to society.  As of launch day, the company is offering three original strains available only in the Los Angeles area.  Diablo Wind, Pancake Ice, and Pink Moon are each named after naturally occurring weather systems.

Houseplant is taking cannabis culture from a hotbox in your homie’s car to an essential in modern home design.  The company debuted a trio of lifestyle goods that are sure to appeal to the modern toker.  Additionally, they offer a beautifully designed Block Table Lighter for those of us constantly losing lighters.  There’s also a Box Set of vinyl records with unique mixes that serve as soundtracks for different strains of weed.  An Ashtray Set modeled after Seth’s own pottery that has taken over social media is the early favorite for many.

The New Age Legacy Roster

What makes Houseplant different from other celebrity-backed cannabis brands is a deep “love and passion for cannabis, design, and art,” Rogen said in a recent press release.  The duo is quite aware of the implications that come with launching a cannabis brand in a world where Black and brown people are far more likely to serve time for minor marijuana charges than white people.

To combat these racist cannabis laws, Houseplant announced several initiatives to create a more equitable future in the cannabis industry.  The most prominent is a mentorship program “assisting entrepreneurs from communities disproportionately impacted by the ‘War on Drugs’ so that they receive a fair and equitable chance to succeed in the cannabis industry.”  Houseplant also announced partnerships with the organizations Cannabis Amnesty, The Marijuana Policy Project, and Cage-Free Cannabis.
