The New Mercedes-AMG C43 Features Technology Straight From Mercedes’ Formula 1 Car’s

The 4MATIC system pushes out 402 horsepower.

Mercedes-AMG just unveiled its 2023 C43 sedan. A standout feature of the new whip is the powertrain, it shares the same 2.0-liter inline-four as the SL43 Roadster capable of 402 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Which gives this 2300 pound car a 0-60 mph time of  4.6 seconds with a top speed of 165 mph.

The power and performance come courtesy of the automakers new NANOSLIDE technology which they use in their Formula 1 cars. This tech allows for extremely low friction between the engine’s pistons and bore liner thus increasing both efficiency and wear-resistance. Furthermore, the longitudinally mounted engine boasts a turbocharger which features an electric motor in additional to the standard exhaust-gas plumbing. Which means the shaft can spin before exhaust gases even matter. You’ll also find this technology in the Mercedes F1 team’s 1.6-liter V6 hybrids. It significantly reduces turbo lag, thus improving acceleration response when hitting the thottle.

They then send the power generated to all four wheels through the new C43’s AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G automatic transmission using a wet clutch pack and the car’s rear-biased AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. The suspension system then comes in the form of steel springs with adaptive dampers that adjusts to your preferences depending on your settings, which range from Comfort, Sport, and Sport+. You’ll also get rear-wheel steering in the standard model as well as 14.6-inch brake discs with four-piston fixed calipers for the front wheels and 12.6-inch discs with single-piston floating calipers for the rear wheels.

We don’t have information regarding pricing for the 2023 Mercedes-AMG but we’ll keep you posted as soon as it becomes available. We do know that the company expects to deliver them in late 2022. For now you can take a detailed look at the images in the gallery above. Lastly for more, automotive news, After 50 Years The Lamborghini Countach Returns, But Not as You’d Expect.
