Bentley Mulliner, the luxury automaker’s bespoke division, has pulled the covers off its latest masterpiece: the first production Batur Convertible. This striking grand tourer is not only a showcase of ultimate personalization but also a landmark of performance, arriving as the most powerful open-top grand tourer in Bentley’s storied history, thanks to its formidable 730 hp twin-turbo W12 engine.

The debut example of the Batur Convertible is a symphony of bespoke design. The exterior is finished in a shimmering Opalite paint, which is dramatically contrasted by a Beluga gloss racing stripe outlined with fine Mandarin pinstripes. This classic sports racing aesthetic is woven through the car’s modern silhouette, with the Mandarin accents reappearing on the grille and wheels to create a cohesive and commanding presence.

Inside, the vehicle features an innovative “One plus One” layout, which creates a visually distinct and driver focused cockpit. The driver’s side is swathed in dark Beluga hide, punctuated by accents of Mandarin and Linen. In sharp contrast, the passenger’s seat is finished in bright Linen with complementary Mandarin stitching, a theme that extends through to the luggage area and even the bespoke matching key cases. Underscoring the car’s incredible attention to detail, key touchpoints like the gear paddles, steering wheel accents, and air vent controls are crafted from titanium.

The Batur Convertible is the third creation in Mulliner’s modern Coachbuilt series, following the successful Bacalar barchetta and the Batur coupé. Each of these ultra exclusive vehicles is co-created with its owner through an intensive collaborative process, utilizing a custom visualizer tool that allows for near limitless personalization.

For those eager to get a closer look at the heart of this machine, Bentley has announced that the new W12 engine will be on display during this year’s Monterey Car Week, offering a fitting showcase for what is likely one of the final applications of this iconic engine.
