The Top 10 Best Metro Boomin Beats
The film opens with a comic book-inspired introduction narrated by Morgan Freeman, who previously worked with Metro and 21 Savage on Savage Mode II. Here, Freeman describes the fictional city of Metropolis as being “on the brink of chaos.”
“For years, Metro Boomin has protected the city from the unrelenting threat of evil. But the light of the Boomanati headquarters, once a beacon of hope, has gone dark. In Metro’s absence, villains rise from the shadows.”
Suddenly, the “new villain in town” LaKeith Stanfield escapes the scene on a stolen fire truck. Young Thug and Gunna appear as anchormen reporting on the crime as Stanfield sets the city ablaze. It seems the city has lost all hope until Morgan Freeman delivers an inspiring speech to Metro inside Boominati Headquarters that rouses the producer to save the day. As Young Metro reaches for his pyramid-shaped diamond chain, Freeman adds: “You know what they say: if Young Metro don’t trust you, motherfucker you better run.”
Heroes & Villains is set to drop this Friday, December 2. It’ll mark Metro Boomin’s first solo project since 2018’s Not All Heroes Wear Capes. Before the release, check out the short film in the player above.
