adidas and Yohji Yamamoto celebrated two decades of their Y-3 partnership this year with the “20 Years: Recoded” series. To close out the celebrations, the duo links with Palace for a special range that sees the British skate imprint reinterpret archival pieces from Y-3.
For “20 Years: Recoded,” Palace combines its irreverent humor with the rebellious spirit of Yamamoto’s pieces to create a 34-product collection. Items include co-branded hoodies, souvenir jackets, tracksuits, puffer jackets, tailored garments, as well as several accessories. Soccer icon Zinedine Zidane and skate legend Lucas Puig model the tracksuits in a campaign video dedicated to sporting heritage. Directed by Jack Davison and Robbie Spencer, the short film shows what happens when the motion of soccer and skateboarding meet. Additionally, the collab sees three iterations of the Y-3 YUUTO sneaker. Tonal black and green pairs of the geometric design play supporting roles to the off-white offering with a rose graphic at the forefoot.
The Palace x Y-3 FW 2022 collection will release at Palace in-store and online, as well as on the adidas Confirmed app on November 11th. You can check out the campaign images above, or the video below.
