With the release of the 9th generation of Pokémon games coming closer to its upcoming launch of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, fans receive another trailer to gear up for the games release. Pokémon such as Grafaiai, the Toxic Monkey Pokémon, was revealed following the announcement of the Terastal phenomenon, the new battle mechanic for this generation that allows Pokémon to switch types during battle. Now, the Pokémon Company has shown off new version exclusive Pokémon and unique game features in its latest trailer.
Right from the gate we get to see three new Pokémon in the trailer – Klawf, Armarouge and Ceruledge. Klawf is a crab-inspired Pokémon and with it, a new ability comes to the game, Anger Shell. The move is similar to Shell Smash when the Pokémon’s HP drops to half or less. While Klawf will be available in both game versions, Armarouge and Ceruledge serve as Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet exclusives respectively. Both feature humanoid designs that many state resembles Megaman in appearance.
When it comes to the gameplay, we finally get a closer look at the previously outlined three storylines. The classic Victory Road challenge of conquering Gyms to become Champion makes a return with two new path concepts. First, the Path of Legends involves taking on Titan Pokémon, bigger than ordinary Pokémon, to obtain rare ingredients. The other involves battling Team Star, school delinquents who are constantly causing trouble.
