Official Images of Sacai’s Nike Cortez 4.0 in a Grayscale Colorway

Honoring the 50th anniversary of the Cortez.

Nike continues to shine a light on its iconic Cortez for the silhouette’s 50th anniversary, deservedly so. Though the Dunk is still the number one sneaker at the Swoosh, a series of fantastic collaborations are quickly raising the profile of the west coast staple. Combining that momentum with the incomparable innovation from Chitose Abe and Japanese fashion label sacai gives us this latest masterpiece. Joining the “OG” iteration teased last month is this grayscale colorway dubbed the sacai x Nike Cortez 4.0 “Grey”.

Similar to their previous collaborations, sacai’s Nike Cortez 4.0 features signature double-layer detailing. Uppers arrive with a nylon base and double-stacked suede panels on the heel. The sneakers also feature double laces, double-layered collars, and collaborative tongue tabs. Further, the chiseled midsole design displays an extended heel piece, with additional exaggerations at the forefoot. The hefty sole design also utilizes a Zoom Air bubble on the midsole and grooved rubber outsoles to round it out.

Nike and sacai have yet to confirm an official release date for the “Grey” Nike Cortez 4.0. We expect the release to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Bill Bowerman’s Cortez silhouette in the coming months via Nike’s website and select retailers for $160 USD. In the meantime, take a moment to peruse the official images in the gallery above. As always, let us know how you’re feeling about these kicks by leaving a score below!
