At long last, HBO has shared the first official trailer for the highly-anticipated Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon. The prequel series, which takes place 200 years prior to the events of the original series, draws from George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood novel.

House of the Dragon follows the tumultuous decline of the House of Targaryen and the beginning of the Targaryen civil war. A battle ensues between siblings Aegon II and Rhaenyra, who fought for the throne following their father’s death. Further, heightened tensions pit Westeros’ houses against each other. The series stars Paddy Considine as King Viserys I Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, and Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra. Also featured in the show are Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, and Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Velaryon. Martin executive produced the series with Vince Gerardis and showrunners Miguel Spochnik and Ryan Condal.
