The most significant changes, however, are found in the sole unit. Informed by insights from modern athletes, Nike has replaced the original’s smaller Air Zoom units with a full-length Zoom Strobel, which is paired with a responsive Cushlon 3.0 midsole and an updated traction pattern for peak on-court performance.
Beyond the technical upgrades, the Kobe 3 Protro “Halo” is imbued with a touching family tribute. The upper features a new diamond geometry pattern, a nod to Kobe’s eldest daughter, Natalia, whose middle name is Diamanté. Natalia also appears in the marketing campaign for the shoe, continuing the Bryant family’s deep involvement with the line.
