The latest chapter in the partnership between BMX superstar Nigel Sylvester and Jordan Brand is almost here. After months of anticipation and evolving previews, the Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Better With Time” is officially set for release, with Nike sharing a complete look at the thoughtfully designed sneaker.
The collaboration was first rumored last year, initially teased under the name “Nitro,” before the official “Better With Time” title and its corresponding philosophy were revealed. The shoe’s concept is a nod to the wear and tear that comes not just from riding a bike, but from the dedication required to master any craft, build friendships, or grow a career. This story is told through the sneaker’s unique, pre-distressed aesthetic.

The shoe features a predominantly black, premium leather upper with purposeful scuffing and weathering details along the toe, heel, and lateral side. This is contrasted by off-white or sail colored hits, most notably on the iconic Swoosh, which gives the shoe a vintage feel. Varsity red accents provide a pop of color on the tongue and insole branding, which features Sylvester’s signature “Bike Air” logo. The liner is stamped with “Jordan Biking Co. EST. 2017,” and the classic Wings logo is embroidered on the heel in white.
Nike has now loaded the shoe onto its SNKRS platform, showcasing the final product and the special packaging that will accompany it. The release marks Sylvester’s latest take on a classic Jordan silhouette, continuing the story he began with his popular Air Jordan 1 High collaboration in 2018.
The Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Better With Time” is scheduled to drop on August 16 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers. The price has been set at $165 USD.
