Equipped with John Rattray's chicken logo and rub-away Swooshes.

Nike’s SB division has been on a hot streak this year when it comes to collaborations. The skate-focused label has already linked with Neck Face, Skate Like a Girl, and FroSkate, to name a few. Next up, Nike SB joins forces with John Rattray’s “Why So Sad?” on a new Dunk Low.

Former pro skater John Rattray started “Why So Sad?” to raise awareness, support, and funds for individuals struggling with mental health. Rattray’s collaborative Dunk Low with Nike SB is likely to be a charity-focused endeavor. For the design, Rattray reworks the silhouette with enticing decor. The main construction sees vast shades of blue alternating amongst upper panels, aside from a bright red heel tab. The true highlights of the sneaker lie in the detailing. The Swooshes receive a blue coating that slowly reveals a yellow hue with normal wear and tear. Additionally, John Rattray’s chicken riding a skateboard figure graces the lateral heel. Down below, a white midsole and icy translucent outsole complete the intricate design.

“Why So Sad?” and Nike SB have yet to reveal any formal release information, though we anticipate more details will arrive shortly. In the meantime, check out the first-look images of the collaborative sneaker in the gallery above. As always, feel free to let us know if you’re feeling it in the poll below!
