Netflix Finally Reveals Trailer for Stranger Things Season 4

A new threat challenges our heroes from Hawkins in the sci-fi series' biggest season yet.

It’s been nearly three years since we last saw the kids of Hawkins confronting terrifying supernatural forces. On Tuesday, Netflix finally shared the long-awaited trailer for season four of the hit series, Stranger Things.

Creators Matt and Ross Duffer describe the upcoming season as their “Game of Thrones” era because of the sprawling story. Joyce (Winona Ryder), Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), and the Byers family moved to California. Hopper (David Harbour) is alive in Russia. And, of course, we’ve still got the remaining group in Hawkins. These three storylines will be interwoven together with “very different tones” in what will be the longest runtime of any season in the series.

The official description for season four is as follows.

“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time — and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”

The Duffer Brothers also noted that this season will finally give fans some answers as to why Hawkins is so important. Earlier this year, Netflix confirmed the series will end following the fifth season.

“Volume 1” of season four will premiere on May 27th. The second half of the season, “Volume 2,” will debut on July 1st. You can watch the official trailer for season four of Stranger Things in the player above. As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
