Virgil Abloh’s remarkable impact in bridging the gap between streetwear and luxury clothing cannot be overstated. Following Abloh’s untimely passing last November, many have wondered what the future for his luxury fashion label, Off-White™, will entail. Now, thanks to a new report from Off-White™ and its parent companies, we have a bit more clarity.
Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh to Auction at Sotheby’s
Labeled as the “next chapter” of Off-White™, the outline details how the iconic imprint will continue to “harness the legacy” of its founder. Initially published by Business of Fashion, the report highlights Abloh’s limitless creativity and the treasure trove of ideas he left behind. The label vows to utilize these “endless” ideas obtained in a series of WhatsApp conversations from over the years.
Off-White™’s CEO Andrea Grilli had this to say regarding the immediate future of the brand.
“The next two years, we are going to go full-speed. The fuel being poured into the brand, it’s for decades, for centuries. Virgil would have wanted us to do it. He always said this has to be a multi-generational brand; our kids need to go on Rodeo Drive and Rue Saint-Honoré and see it.”
Additionally, Off-White™ will incorporate a collective of creatives. Davide De Giglio, the co-founder of New Guards Group, added “it’s going to be a group of people, a movement, a collective. Think about Linux, open-source: you can inject something new and the software pattern evolves.” NGG currently holds majority ownership in Off-White™ while LVMH holds an increased minority stake. However, NGG and LVMH can renegotiate or terminate this long-term agreement at the end of 2026.

Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO Michael Burke drew a comparison between the current situation at Off-White™ to what Dior went through in 1957 following Christian Dior’s death.
“If the legacy is rich, authentic, and steeped in values that go beyond fashion, the odds of turning a passing into something eternal are spectacular.”
