Nike Offers Up A New Dunk Low with “3D” Swooshes

Using stacked multi-colored logos to create a playful illusion.

Nike continues to saturate the market with creative iterations of the Dunk Low. It’s not uncommon to see Nike modify their Swoosh, as seen in the recent Polaroid collaboration. Similar to what the Swoosh did for the Air Max 90 and Air Max Plus, Nike now applies 3D-inspired details to a pair of Dunks.

Nike’s “3D” Dunks start with a simple foundation. Foremost, light grey leather overlays cover a white leather base in a classic two-tone color block style. Meanwhile, the main fixtures – i.e., the Swoosh, tread, and branding – use dark grey to complete the main palette. The only bit of color on the sneaker comes via the three-dimensional checks. Variations of volt green, red, and blue are stacked atop one another to give the illusion of a 3D Swoosh. This effect is also applied to the Nike Sportswear logos on the tongue tags.

Though Nike has yet to announce a release date for this pair of Dunks, we anticipate they’ll drop in the coming months. In the meantime, have a detailed look at the official images in the gallery above. Let us know your thoughts by voting below!
