We love seeing ideas like this come to life. If you’re a fan of the VW Bettle or the Porsche 992, this article is for you. Courtesy of Hagerty‘s latest “Rendered” video, concept artist Khyzyl Saleem reimagines the ’70s Volkswagen Beetle and renders a 992 generation Porsche 911 GT3 from it.

The goal was to keep the design and structural integrity of the VW Bettle, while adding the sleak and aggresive features from the 992 GT3. He carries design cues over via the front splitter, side mirrors, swan tail fenders, rear diffusers, and lights. He also lowered the car significantly, adding Rotiform BTL that sit nicely on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. He also modified the interior to include slim bucket seats to complement its far more sporty design. You can take a detailed look at the video showcasing the entire process in the video above.

“Sorry Porsche purists,” Saleem writes in a reveal post. “I’ve imagined what a modernized Beetle in the styling of the new Porsche 992 GT3 would look like for quite a while now, so figured, why not finally try it!”
