Steph Curry Hits 16 Threes En Route to All-Star MVP

The Chef dropped 50 points in the greatest pick-up game on earth.

It was an event unlike any other. After a historically awful dunk contest on Saturday night, the NBA All-Star Game did not disappoint. Ja Morant threw down several high-flying dunks, Giannis swatted shots away like flies, and DeMar DeRozan showed why he’s the coldest in the mid-range. The stars were out in Cleveland, but none shined brighter than the greatest showman in basketball, Steph Curry.

Curry nailed a record-shattering 16 three-pointers for a whopping 50 points effortlessly – or, as Shaq says, Stephortlessly. On a night where the NBA celebrated the 75 greatest players in history, Steph was the main attraction. When you get Allen Iverson, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan shaking their heads in bewilderment, you’re just different. Curry fell just two points short of breaking Anthony Davis’ record for most points ever scored in an All-Star game. Though it surely wasn’t for a lack of trying. The future Hall-of-Famer can now add All-Star MVP to his already impressive résumé.

Elsewhere, Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen showed out in their first All-Star appearances, each playing pivotal minutes in the fourth quarter. LaMelo Ball and Dejounte Murray also had fantastic games, showing once again that the league is in great hands. But it was the man who consistently defies father time that clinched the win. LeBron James sealed the victory for his team, 163-160, with a turnaround jumper in front of his hometown crowd. The King is now 5-0 as a captain since the NBA adopted the format in 2018.
