Adam Sandler’s affinity for hoops is no secret. You don’t have to search very far to find videos of the comedy icon playing pick-up games across the country. His latest effort from his lucrative deal with Netflix puts the game of basketball as the focal point. Netflix shares the first trailer for Hustle, co-produced by Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions and LeBron James’ SpringHill Company.
‘The Batman’ Will Reportedly Be Roughly Three Hours Long With Credits
In Hustle, Sandler plays a struggling basketball scout who stumbles upon a once-in-a-generation talent with a rocky past abroad. Going against the team’s approval, Sandler brings the star to the states in a final attempt to show he belongs in the NBA. Sandler stars opposite Juancho Hernangomez, a Spanish-born forward on the Utah Jazz making his acting debut. If the trailer is any indication, Sandler appears to be dipping back into his dramatic acting bag. Though he doesn’t have the same intensity as Howard Ratner in Uncut Gems, Hustle isn’t just another one of Sandler’s goofy comedies. In large part, this teaser feels like a hype video for your NBA 2K MyCareer player. Whether you find that good or bad, it’s sure to be an exciting watch.
Additional cast members include Queen Latifah, Robert Duvall, and Inside the NBA’s Kenny Smith. The teaser also features cameos from several instantly recognizable NBA talents. This includes Trae Young, Anthony Edwards, Kyle Lowry, Jordan Clarkson, Seth Curry, and many more.
Hustle hits Netflix on June 10th. You can watch the teaser trailer in the player above.
