Brooklyn is home to some dope acts. It’s a cultural melting pot where you could easily find your new favorite artist. DON DR3 is one of these acts. Consistency separates good from great. Here’s where you have to put DON in a category outside of his contemporaries. You can count on a release from him when you least expect it, and in every instance so far, he’s exceeded expectations.
For his latest release, Don drops off a though-provoking new track. Sonically on the darker side dripping with reverb laden vocals and synth heavy production. Of course self-produced, It’s easy to understand why fans are gravitating towards his music. It’s about the meaning and inspiration behind the records. I was able to sit with DON earlier this week and when asked why he puts out music when he does, he stated:
“I want my music to mean something, it has to represent something real in my life. Fans know when they’re listening to something they can believe in.”
