These sneakers have been on our radar for months. Today we’re finally getting a confirmed first official look at the Air Jordan 1 High “Lucky Green” via Nike. Although the shoe comes as a women’s-exclusive style it will come in an extended size run for those men who’d like to pick up a pair. The Air Jordan 1 High “Lucky Green” gets its name and look because of Michael Jordan’s 63-point game against the Boston Celtics in the 1986 NBA Playoffs. A performance that even made Larry Bird to say “It’s just God disguised as Michael Jordan” during a post-game interview.
It all starts with the upper that features white and green colors, reminiscent to the official Celtics colorway. While still paying homage to Chicago with the welcomed touches of red found throughout the sneaker. Furthermore, the quarters, collars and toe boxes all feature a beautiful sail hue. While the mudguards, eyestays, collar flaps and heels use the “Lucky Green” color. You’ll also find Bulls red on the tongue tag and wings logo for a welcomed touch of contrast.
Nike Set To Release the Nike Dunk High “Pro Green”
In 1986 a rookie Michael Jordan dropped 63 points on Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parish and the rest of the Celtics team. Jordan could finally play a full game after being limited for months by the Bulls organization for an injury Jordan was coming off of. So these sneakers will definitively be sought after. There’s also a special hardwood print on the insoles for a nod to the Boston Garden’s wood floor and a green leather hangtag. Sail midsoles and dark grey outsoles complete the look.
The Air Jordan 1 “Lucky Green” drops on the Nike SNKRS on October 14 for a retail price of $170 USD. You can take a detailed look at the images in the gallery above. Lastly, for more sneaker news, Nike Set to Release New GORE-TEX Air Force 1 Low This Fall.
