Once again, Nike winds back the clock, we’re now getting an updated Nike Dunk Low “Samba” and although I’m not crazy about the color scheme of this iteration. I still know the hype around this shoe will be real.
So originally released back in 2001 as a Japan-exclusive. We’re now getting a global release and fans who wanted the original but could not land a pair due to positioning. Now have their chance. The updated model pays homage to the original in every way. Starting with premium leather upper construction. You’ll find “Hyper Blue” as the base of the sneaker, followed by silver on the mudguards and mid panels. We receive a touch of contrast in the form of “Samba Red” featured on the Swooshes. Nike also adds “NIKE” in embroidered heel tabs in the aforementioned color along with Nike Swoosh tongue tags. To round things off, Nike offers white laces and a matching sockliner. While “Hyper Blue” printed insoles sit within the shoe, this all sits atop a white midsole paired with “Samba Red” outsoles.
Overall, this shoe is a solid colorway in one of the most popular Nike sneaker silhouettes in 2020. With a retail price of $100. The updated Nike Dunk Low “Samba” drops on Nike SNKRS and at select Nike retailers on August 21, 10 p.m. PST. We hope the sneaker gods are good to you this year.
