The first trailer for Matt Reeves‘ The Batman has finally released.

DC FanDome ended the weekend with the debut of The Batman. “Something in the Way“ by Nirvana is heard in the two-minute trailer with visuals of our lead man Robert Pattinson. We see him sporting both the Batsuit and his Bruce Wayne attire. We got a first look at Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Paul Dano as The Riddler. Not shown in the first trailer were Colin Farrell as The Penguin, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as District Attorney Gil Colson and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.

While at DC FanDome, Reeves stated that although it’s not an origins tale, audiences will meet Batman “in the middle of this criminological experiment and watch him make mistakes.” He continued, “He’s not having any of the effect that he wants to have, that’s when the murders begin to happen.”

“This epic history of corruption in Gotham: Where did (his) family sit in that?,” Reeves added. “At the end, it’s very personal for him.”
