Patriot Act With Hasan Minhaj is one of the better shows on Netflix, and for the streaming giant it’s been a homerun.  But unfortunately, after six seasons we’ve received news that the political comedy show will not return for a seventh season.

Hasan Minhaj took to Twitter to make the official announcement. Minhaj wrote, “What a run. @patriotact has come to an end. I got to work with the best writers, producers, researchers, and animators in the game. My two babies were born and grew up with the show. TY to @Netflix and everyone who watched. Now it’s time to return these screens to Best Buy.”

Patriot Act offered 39 episodes, each of which covered a range of topics and political news. What made the show enjoyable was its comedic, yet analytical, approach. In January 2019, Netflix was asked by Saudi Arabian officials to pull a specific episode that reportedly offended the country.  while in June this year, Minhaj developed a digital exclusive in which he addressed Black Lives Matter and why the silence from people of color regarding this issue is detrimental.

However, Patriot Act With Hasan Minhaj has also covered topics ranging from Supreme to the price of attending college and political elections. Since it launched in October 18, the show has as won an Emmy and a Peabody. The show’s catalog of episodes will be available to stream on Netflix, however, there will be no new episodes moving forward.
