Matt Fajkus Architecture founded by Matt Fajkus, winner of AIA Austin’s Emerging Professional Achievement Honor Award in 2017, creates some of the most beautiful modern homes. The AUTOHAUS is no exception. Masterfully crafted in 2017, this Austin, Texas-based house elegantly puts the owner’s automotive collection at the forefront. Emphasizing the vehicles more so than the home. Which makes the home stand out just as much. Both compliment each other. I’ve said this before. At some point, I plan on enlisting Matt Fajkus Architecture to build my home, because for what they do, they’re the best at it.
The AUTOHAUS features compact living quarters, conveyed as a single mass. It floats above an open area providing a multi-use gathering and automobile calibration/display. This grants the vehicles as much viewing room as possible. You won’t find a single support collum to obstruct your view. Making this home the perfect day-to-day carport.

Furthermore, they’ve shifted the structure backwards to ensure that the trim space maximizes the driveway space without increasing its environmental footprint. The owner can fit about a dozen vehicles comfortably in the lower level garage, the home also features adjustable parking spots so more can fit if needed. Enormous glass windows on the second floor guarantee a scenic view while still offering a look at the automotive collection, with plenty of natural light.
The AUTOHAUS is a definitive home run for Matt Fajkus Architecture. We hope to see more from the innovative architectural firm. You can check out detailed pictures in the gallery above. Lastly, for more design news, This Chilean Coastal Home is Perfect for the Minimal Utilitarian.
