The Philadelphia Phillies put on an offensive clinic at home on Monday, overwhelming the Seattle Mariners with a 21-hit barrage to secure a commanding 12-7 victory. The charge was led by superstars Bryce Harper, who launched two mammoth home runs, and Trea Turner, who continued his torrid hitting streak with four hits and five RBIs.

The game was effectively decided in a massive second-inning explosion against Mariners starter Logan Gilbert. The Phillies sent a parade of batters to the plate, starting with five consecutive hits to open the frame. Max Kepler drove in the first run with a single, followed by an RBI double from Bryson Stott. Trea Turner then broke the game open with a towering three-run homer. After a pitching change couldn’t stop the bleeding, J.T. Realmuto capped the inning with a two-out solo home run, ballooning the lead to 6-0.

From there, the Phillies never looked back. Bryce Harper added to the lead in the sixth inning with a colossal 440-foot home run. After the Mariners showed signs of life in the seventh, closing the gap to 7-4 on home runs by Mitch Garver and a three-run shot from Cole Young, Philadelphia’s offense answered immediately. In the bottom of the seventh, Turner added an RBI double before Harper hit his second blast of the night—a 448-foot shot for his 21st of the season—to make it 11-4.

Turner, who now has 14 hits in his last five games, capped his incredible night with an RBI single in the eighth, raising his season batting average from .281 to .295 during this hot streak.

Lost in the offensive fireworks was a dominant performance from Phillies starter Ranger Suarez. The left-hander earned his ninth win of the season, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings while allowing just two runs on four hits. He was in complete control, striking out 10 batters without issuing a single walk.

The win marks the Phillies’ third in their last four games, while the struggling Mariners have now lost five of their past six.
