Five years after Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist set a new standard for collaborative rap projects with their Grammy nominated album Alfredo, the duo has returned with the long awaited sequel. Alfredo 2 is here, delivering on the promise of the original with the same meticulous craft and collaborative finesse that fans have come to expect.

The 14 track album finds the rapper and producer locked in once again, building on their signature sound. The project features a curated list of guest appearances, including Anderson .Paak on the track “Ensalada,” Larry June on “Feeling,” and JID on “Gold Feet.” The album was introduced with the lead single “1995,” setting the stage for the full release.

But Alfredo 2 is more than just a musical offering. The album is the main course in a three part project that was preceded by a companion short film, a cinematic Tokyo crime saga directed by Nick Walker. The release is also supported by a lineup of limited edition merchandise capsules, creating a complete and immersive experience for fans.

After years of anticipation, Gibbs and Alc have clearly taken their time to ensure the follow up lives up to the legacy of its predecessor, once again raising the bar for modern hip hop. You can listen to the the full album on Spotify and Apple Music.
