Casa Entremontes is a breathtaking single family residence situated on an incredibly unique urban site in southern Brazil. Located perfectly between two distinct hills that define the skyline of Montenegro this expansive property spans over five thousand square meters. The brilliant design team at Harpa Arquitetura took full advantage of this unusual location where standard urban infrastructure directly meets lush natural landscapes. The resulting home beautifully explores this natural duality by carefully mediating the complex relationship between the bustling city and the quiet outdoors.
The core architectural concept is expressed through a striking composition of clean orthogonal volumes that appear to float gently directly above the natural terrain. This highly minimalist formal language is strongly reinforced by the implementation of a specialized dry construction system. This specific building method allowed for significantly greater precision while drastically reducing material waste and ensuring a much faster execution timeline.

On the exterior the house is entirely clad in beautiful charred wood which creates a stark and highly contemporary presence against the organic green surroundings. This choice also provides excellent long term durability and requires incredibly low maintenance over time. Stepping inside the natural wood finishes and warm light tones immediately generate a sense of comfort and a very strong feeling of home.
The functional layout of the house is cleverly organized into two primary volumes. The front section faces the street and houses the main social and service areas. It features a carefully controlled facade that acts as a visual barrier against urban noise and unwanted street exposure. Meanwhile the private volume sits tucked away at the rear of the lot and opens generously directly toward the landscape. This ensures total privacy and provides uninterrupted views of the surrounding greenery. At the very heart of the project a central social axis connects the living room kitchen veranda barbecue area and outdoor leisure spaces. Massive sliding doors allow all of these areas to be completely integrated or separated depending on the daily needs of the residents.
The sprawling pool and expansive outdoor areas strongly reinforce the seamless continuity between the interior and exterior environments. Additionally a deeply secluded spa located at the far end of the private wing offers the owners a quiet retreat dedicated entirely to rest and deep contemplation. By flawlessly combining natural materials with incredibly smart spatial decisions Casa Entremontes unfolds as a truly contemporary home that adapts perfectly to its surroundings.
