Former UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has issued a public apology after his son, professional MMA fighter Raja Jackson, was filmed in a shocking and violent attack against a professional wrestler known as Syko Stu. The incident, which organizers have called a “selfish, irresponsible act of violence,” took place during a wrestling event in Sun Valley, California, on Saturday night and has since gone viral, raising numerous questions about the event and the condition of the wrestler.

What Happened in the Raja Jackson Attack Video?

Footage that spread rapidly across social media shows the chaotic scene unfolding. During a scheduled bout, Raja Jackson is seen sliding into the wrestling ring, grabbing his apparent target, Syko Stu (real name Stuart Smith), and throwing him violently to the mat. The video, which was reportedly livestreamed on the platform Kick, then shows Jackson straddling Smith and delivering a series of punches to his face and the side of his head, continuing the assault even after Smith appears to be lying motionless. Other wrestlers and event staff eventually rush in to restrain Raja Jackson and end the attack. In the aftermath of the incident, the streaming platform Kick confirmed to CNN that Raja Jackson’s account has been permanently banned.

Rampage Jackson Responds to His Son’s Actions

On Sunday morning, Rampage Jackson took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the incident, apologize, and offer an explanation for his son’s behavior. “I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL!” the MMA legend wrote. He explained that his son’s health may have been a contributing factor. “He (Raja Jackson) suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact,” he stated. “As a father, I’m deeply concerned with his health AND the well-being of Mr. Smith.” Rampage concluded his statement by apologizing on his son’s behalf.

Was the Fight Scripted? A ‘Work That Went Wrong’

Adding a layer of complexity to the situation are statements suggesting the incident began as a scripted part of the professional wrestling show, known in the industry as a “work.” The event’s organizer, KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy, released a statement clarifying that what was supposed to be a “planned and agreed upon wrestling spot, turned into a selfish, irresponsible act of violence.”

Rampage Jackson’s statement supported this, explaining that there was a prior altercation. He wrote that Syko Stu had unexpectedly hit Raja on the side of the head with a can outside the venue moments before the match. “Raja was told that he could get his ‘payback’ in the ring, I thought it was a part of the show,” Rampage explained. “It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong. Raja is a(n) MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this.”

What is Syko Stu’s Status? An Update on the Wrestler

The primary concern for many viewers of the video has been the health and status of the wrestler, Syko Stu. In his social media post, Rampage Jackson stated that he had been informed that “Mr. Smith was awake and stable.” The event organizers at KnokX also stated that their thoughts and prayers are with Stuart Smith and that “we are monitoring his well-being.” As of this report, no further official updates on his specific medical condition have been released.

Was Raja Jackson Arrested?

While “Raja Jackson arrested” has become a major search trend, there have been no official reports or statements from law enforcement confirming an arrest in connection with this incident as of Sunday evening.
