Designed for a young family in a residential condominium within a golf club, House G+B was conceived with a clear and joyful purpose: to be a place of celebration and social gatherings. The project, led by architect Mariana Orsi, is an expansive 1187 square meter residence that prioritizes communal living and a deep connection with the natural environment.
The core design philosophy is centered on an extensive leisure area, which the architects describe as the true “heart of the house.” This sprawling hub for entertainment and relaxation is thoughtfully programmed to accommodate a variety of activities. It includes a large gourmet area for hosting meals, a swimming pool, a dedicated spa complete with a jacuzzi and sauna, a large private gym, and even a modest soccer field. By making these shared spaces the focal point, the design encourages family interaction and a vibrant social life.

This focus on leisure is balanced by a clear and logical architectural layout. The home is organized into three well-defined zones—intimate, social, and service—which are connected by a large central circulation axis. This main artery of the house provides seamless access to the different areas while maintaining a clear separation between the private family quarters and the more public, social spaces.
A key element of the home’s design is its material palette, which was chosen to create a strong connection with nature. Natural materials are present throughout the residence, with a particular emphasis on stone and the raw, exposed concrete of the roof. These elements give the home a sense of freshness and permanence. This is most dramatically expressed on the main facade, where a large geometric concrete slab appears to float, creating a welcoming entrance. This slab also serves a clever functional purpose, forming an air pocket that ventilates the entire roof structure and provides greater thermal protection from the Brazilian sun.
The home’s thoughtful design extends to practical and sustainable features, including two large water reservoirs, one of which is dedicated to water reuse. The interior is distinguished by exclusive and extensive woodworking, with generous custom panels and cabinets that add warmth and a bespoke level of craftsmanship to the space, making House G+B a truly special and personalized home.
