OMEGA revealed two new Seamaster Diver 300M watches to honor the James Bond franchise’s 60th anniversary.
GoldenEye occupies a particular position in the label’s extensive library of James Bond films. It was the first to depict the main character wearing an OMEGA Seamaster watch. Lindy Hemming, the costume designer from GoldenEye to Casino Royale, explained the style decision, saying, “I was certain that Commander Bond, a navy man, a diver, and a discreet gentleman of the world, would wear this watch.” This marked the beginning of OMEGA’s collaboration with James Bond, which covered both generations of Bond actors, adorning the wrists of both Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig‘s 007.
OMEGA launched the Seamaster Diver 300M watches in two variants — Stainless Steel and Canopus GoldTM — reimagining the classic timepiece worn by James Bond in GoldenEye. Both editions have a caseback design that features a silhouette of Bond against a spinning gun barrel backdrop, emulating the classic opening sequence.
The Stainless Steel variant finds drive by way of a precise Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806. It features blue oxalic anodized aluminum bezels and dials, as well as a mesh-style band reminiscent of 007’s watch from No Time To Die. Meanwhile, the Canopus GoldTM version, powered by the exquisite Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8807. It’s made with OMEGA’s own 18k Canopus GoldTM and features a crystallites-embedded dial that pays homage to the Jamaican flag.
On the accessory side, OMEGA offers limited-edition cufflinks inspired by the Quantum Of Solace film, as well as nylon-braided and brushed titanium sailing bracelets inspired by 007’s NATO strap in No Time To Die.
