Alienware to Release the First 500Hz Gaming Monitor

Beating ASUS to market.

Last year, ASUS unveiled its prototype for the groundbreaking ROG Swift monitor. At the time, this was going to be the world’s first 500Hz gaming monitor. However, rival company Alienware has introduced its own 500Hz monitor that will beat ASUS to market. Named the “AQ2524H,” Alienware’s piece is a 24.5-inch IPS Full HD monitor that refreshes 500 times per second for the smoothest gameplay possible.

Currently, the fastest monitors on the market can reach a maximum of around 360Hz. Of course, Alienware’s 500Hz number comes with a few caveats. The maximum refresh rate can only be achieved via the DisplayPort 1.4 connection. With a standard speed of 480Hz, the 500Hz speeds can only be reached by overclocking. Additionally, the Alienware monitor features 0.5ms response time on Extreme mode, Nvidia G-Sync certification, and VESA DisplayHDR 400. Further specs include an ambient light sensor to adjust monitor brightness, customizable AlienFX lighting, and a height-adjustable mount that tilts, swivels, and pivots. Ports include two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4, four USB 3.2, a headphone jack, and an audio line-out.

You can expect the Alienware AQ2524H to release sometime during Q1 this year. Stay tuned for exact pricing and details.
