Nike’s Popular “Panda” Colorway Arrives on the Nike Dunk Mid

Opting for a canvas build rather than the usual patent leather.

In the hierarchy of mainstream sneaker culture, the Nike Dunk reigns supreme. In the hierarchy of Dunks, few iterations have maintained widespread popularity like the notorious “Panda” scheme. Having restocked the classic Lows and Highs more times than we can count, Nike finally decides for a slight switch-up. With the return of the Dunk Mid coming in 2023, Nike plasters its most popular colorway onto the silhouette, albeit with a twist.

Nike Officially Unveils the Dunk Low Remastered in “Olive”

Nike maintains the instantly recognizable “Panda” color-blocking for the Dunk Mid. However, the construction of the sneaker is a bit different. Rather than use patent leather as the main material, Nike instead opts for canvas across most of the upper. The side panel Swooshes still retain their original leather textures. For branding, Nike Sportswear logos hit the tongues and heels, both of which use bright white finishes. Given the style versatility of “Panda” Dunks, it’s easy to see why they continue to be such a strong seller. It appears as thought Nike is going to stick with the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mindset with this motif as long as it can.

You can expect the Nike Dunk Mid “Panda” to arrive in the coming months via Nike and select retailers. While we wait, take a moment to check out the official images in the gallery above.
