Nike’s latest addition to the Dunk Low family commemorates the career of Lisa Leslie on the 20th anniversary of becoming the first player to dunk in a WNBA game. Leslie was an eight-time All-Star and three-time league MVP for the Los Angeles Sparks from 1997 to 2009. The Basketball Hall of Famer also led the Sparks to back-to-back championships in 2001 and 2002.
To pay homage to Leslie’s historic dunk, the Nike Dunk Low arrives in a Los Angeles Sparks colorway. For the design, an eye-catching teal Swoosh highlights a purple and gold leather base. Leslie’s signature number 9 appears stitched into the lateral heel in white and gold. The striking teal shade appears again on the tongue tag and insole branding. The heel tab branding, however, arrives in black to match the laces. This all rests atop a white midsole and black outsole to complete the look.
Nike plans to release the Dunk Low “Lisa Leslie” in late July to honor the legendary dunk that took place on July 30, 2002. Before they drop, take a more detailed look at the sneakers in the gallery above.
